What makes an award winner?

From dictionaries, publishing, education, to media, language planning and technology, our award winner will demonstrate an understanding of the current position of the Irish language and an innovative vision to reinforce in the future.

To enter you need to:

·       Be an undergraduate student with an interest in incorporating the Irish language in their future career  

·       Be fluent Irish

·       Be eligible to work in Ireland after graduation

Ar an dara lá de mhí na Nollag 1999 bunaíodh Foras na Gaeilge, an comhlacht atá freagrach as an nGaeilge a chur chun cinn ar fud na hÉireann. TríGhradam Fhoras na Gaeilge, tá súil ag Foras na Gaeilge nuálaithe atá agteachtchun cinn a aithint agus tacú leo le húsáid agus cur chun cinn naGaeilge afhorbairt.

Foras na Gaeilge, the body responsible for the promotion of the Irish language throughout the island of Ireland, was founded on the second day of December 1999. Foras na Gaeilge is proud of its role in advising administrations, North and South, as well as public bodies and other groups in the private and voluntary sectors in all matters relating to the Irish language as well as the supportive projects it undertakes with grant-aiding bodies and groups throughout the island of Ireland. Through Gradam Fhoras na Gaeilge,Foras na Gaeilge aims to identify and support future innovators in developing the use and the promotion of Irish.

Your details must be submitted and completed by 23rd February 2024.

If you are successful in getting through to the next stage, you will hear from us by mid-March.

Assessment centre

The top 10 shortlisted candidates will be reviewed by Foras na Gaeilge.  

Foras na Gaeilge will conduct virtual interviews to determine the winner. This process may involve a presentation.

Grand final

The final shortlist of ten students will be invited to the awards ceremony on 10th April 2024, at the Aviva Stadium where the award winners will be announced.
