We’re searching Irish universities to find the Undergraduate of the Year Celebrating Sustainable Excellence. Are you passionate about sustainability and protecting our natural resources? Do you have a drive to improve the world around you through innovation, fresh thinking and a commitment to excellence?
We’re looking for ambitious, motivated undergraduates who care about their communities and environment, embrace new opportunities and aren’t afraid to challenge the way things are done. If you’re ready to bring your ideas, perspective and passion to the table, this could be your chance to stand out and be recognised as the Undergraduate of the Year. At Lakeland Dairies, we’re looking for people who strive for excellence, embrace new opportunities and bring innovative thinking to everything they do.
Enter if you are:
- A current undergraduate student at a university in Ireland
- In your penultimate or final year of university
- On track to attain a 2:1, level 8 degree
- Have the right to work in the EU after graduation

Win a place on the Lakeland Dairies Graduate Programme!
The winner will kick-start their career with a place on the Lakeland Dairies Graduate Programme, alongside an exclusive tour of one of our manufacturing sites and a one-to-one experience with a Head of Function from across the business.
And that’s not all, four runners-up will also be fast-tracked to the final round of the Graduate Programme selection process, giving them a valuable head start on their career with Lakeland Dairies.

What makes an award winner?
The winner of this award should have a genuine passion for sustainability and a desire to make a meaningful difference. They’ll strive for excellence as the norm, with the curiosity to ask questions, challenge existing ways of working and find opportunities to do things better.
We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, self-motivated and open to new challenges, with the confidence to take ownership and the initiative to turn ideas into action. They’ll combine innovative thinking with a practical approach, looking for ways to improve performance while considering the impact on people, communities and the environment.
A strong collaborator, they’ll value different perspectives, work well with others and be willing to share ideas and learn from those around them. Above all, they’ll demonstrate the leadership potential, resilience and forward-thinking mindset to help shape a more sustainable future.
The standout candidate will be someone who doesn’t just care about sustainability, but actively looks for ways to make a difference – bringing together curiosity, innovation, high standards and a commitment to continuous improvement.

How do I win?

To apply, you’ll need to:
- Register for the Undergraduate of the Year Awards
- Complete two SHL assessments: a personality questionnaire and a situational judgement test.
Deadline: 12pm (midday), Monday 25 January 2027.

Remember, please make sure you allow enough time to complete all assessments before the deadline.
If you’re successful in progressing to the next stage, we’ll be in touch by 26 February 2027 with details of what happens next.
Assessment centre
If you successfully pass the initial application and screening stage, your application will be reviewed by Lakeland Dairies.
From there, you could be invited to take part in networking, interviews, an assessment centre or other activities designed to help you showcase your skills and get to know Lakeland Dairies.
Full details will be given to successful students.

The final shortlisted students will be invited to join us at the Undergraduate of the Year Awards ceremony on 7 April 2027, where we’ll celebrate their achievements and reveal the winner of each award.
